Freezer stars Dylan McDermott (American Horror Story, Hostages), Peter Facinelli (Twilight) and directed by Emmy Award Winner Mikael Salomon (“Band of Brothers”). It’ll be released in select theaters January 17 and Blu-ray/DVD on January 21 from Anchor Bay Films.
It’s Robert Sanders (Dylan) birthday in Brooklyn and he wakes up in a freezer with no idea why he’s there. Last he knows he was in a bar with his girlfriend celebrating. When two Russians show up he has no idea still why he’s there. They rough him up a little and leave him. When a phone rings and it’s a detective (David McNally) on the other end, he feels he has hope. Alisa (Yuliya Snigir) is the next to show up and demand the money and she at least speaks English. Robert is accused of stealing 8 million dollars from the mob and they want the money back. He swears he doesn’t have it. As he tries to flirt with her, he soon realizes that he may not get out of this alive.
The cop who’s phone was ringing Sam (Peter) wakes up in the freezer, having been shot and clinging to life. They soon try to devise a plan to escape, only to be stopped. As the movie moves along, Robert tries more ways to escape and everyone start to turn on each other in a desperate game of cat and mouse. Then a surprise twist you won’t see coming.
Dylan McDermott as usual gives an outstanding performance of a man possibly seeing his life coming to and end. The story moves along at a brisk pace and the movie is less than 90 minutes long.
