Erica O’Rourke’s sci-fi book series Dissonance has been optioned by Envision Media Arts.
The books follow Del, a young woman who has the ability to walk between alternate realities and is entrusted with keeping the dimensions in harmony.
The duology was published by Simon & Schuster, which released the first book in July of 2014 and the second, titled Resonance, in July of 2015.
Jennifer Quintenz, author of the YA paranormal book series Daughters of Lilith, will adapt the book for the screen, and will also act as a producer on the project, along with EMA’s Lee Nelson and David Buelow. David Tish and Beaux Carson will executive produce.
“Dissonance is a coming-of-age story of forbidden love set in a smart sci-fi adventure. It engages our minds and hearts, and we look forward to bringing it to the big screen,” said Nelson.
EMA just completed Mr. Church, a drama that stars Eddie Murphy and Britt Robertson.
O’Rourke received the Golden Heart Award in 2010 for Best Young Adult Romance. She’s repped by Joanna Volpe and Pouya Shahbazian of New Leaf Literary & Media.
